Nehemiah 2:18

After the Storm

Dr. John K Bergland

Musings on the destruction brought by the monster storm, Sandy. 10-29-2012

WHAT SHALL WE SAY TO THIS?
IF GOD BE FOR US WHO CAN BE AGAINST US?

In God’s world healing always wants to happen. A seed falls beneath the ground and grows again. The dove comes back to the ark with a sprig of green in its beak. Therefore, we should be confident, hopeful and helpful. Faith, hope and love abide. They last forever. (1 Cor. 13)

Mother Teresa suggested a bridge from chaos to peace. It begins in a quiet place apart. The gift of solitude is silence. The gift of silence is prayer. The gift of prayer is faith. The gift of faith is God. The gift of God is love. The gift of love is service. The gift of service is peace.

“I told them that the hand of God was good, and they said, “Let us rise up and build!” So they strengthened their hands for this good work.” (Nehemiah 2:18)
