Ephesians 2:11-22

We Are the Temple of God

By Richard Niell Donovan

We sometimes call this building “the church.” This is where we come to worship God. Sometimes we think of this church building as the place where God lives.

Well, God does live here in this building, but God lives elsewhere too. Can you think of anyplace other than this church building where God lives? (Pause––listen.).

We could say that God lives everywhere, and there is some truth in that. But the Bible teaches us that God dwells in each one of us. The Bible tells us that each one of us is a temple of God––a place where God dwells. If you are willing to welcome God into your heart, God is more than willing to enter your life––and go with you wherever you go––and help you when you need help.

You are a temple of God––a place where God lives. Wherever you go and whatever happens, always remember that God is with you.
