2 Corinthians 6:1-13

The Right Time

By Lois Parker Edstrom

If you have an emergency in your house when do you call 911? Yes, right away. You act immediately.

How about if you saw an elderly neighbor who was having trouble getting the mail or

was unable to shovel snow from the walkway? When would you offer to help? You would help when you see that help is needed.

When is the right time to pet your dog or cat? Yes, anytime. Pets love attention. Don’t put off caring for them and giving them what they need.

(Personalize or add to the examples provided above.)

In the Bible we learn about the right time to accept God’s love. We find this verse: “… now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation” (6:2). The Apostle Paul tells us that now is the time to receive God’s love. He says there is nothing in the way.

Sometimes we find excuses to put off doing something that should be done. You may feel too tired to feed the dog or too cranky to give you mother a hug or you may be having too much fun to stop and help your neighbor.

We can find excuses for almost anything, but there is nothing more important than to know and experience God’s love. There is nothing in your way – nothing to stop you.
Open yourself to God’s love. Accept and be blessed by it. Now is the right time.
