There are many ways to send a message. You can write a note, enclose it in an envelope, address and stamp it and put it in a mailbox. You can use a computer to email a message.

You could holler loudly and hope someone would hear your message. Or you could put a message in a bottle, throw it in the ocean and hope someone finds it.

Sometimes birds are used to send messages. They are called carrier pigeons or homing pigeons. Messages are strapped to the bird’s back or a leg and the bird is able to fly several miles, sometimes hundreds of miles, back to its home.

In England and France homing pigeons were used to carry messages and laboratory samples back and forth between two hospitals.

We learn in the Bible that the disciples of Jesus carried his message of love. The disciple, Paul tells us that when people heard “the message of God” (2:13) they accepted it as the truth. He says the message of God “works in you who believe” (2:13).

You are the way God sends his message of love to others. God’s love works in you. It is a message that can change your life and the lives of others.
