Showing God That We Love Him

Showing God That We Love Him

1 Kings 8:1-43

How can we show God that we love him?  There must be many ways.

Many years ago, a king whose name was Solomon decided to build God a beautiful temple to show God that he loved him.

Ever since then, people have been building beautiful churches to show God that they love him.

But not everyone can build God a beautiful church.  Most of us don’t have enough money to build a beautiful church––and not many of us have the skills.  To build a beautiful church costs lots of money, and requires skills to work with wood and stone and paint and many other things.

It would take a million dollars to build a beautiful church?  Do any of you have a million dollars?

None of us have a million dollars, do we?  Most of us will never have that much money.

But we can work with other Christians, giving what we can.  Sometimes, working together with lots of other people, we can do much more than we could ever do by ourselves.

Also, there are other ways to show God that we love him.  Can you think of anything that you could do to show God that you love him? (Listen for answers.)

One of the things we can do to show God that we love him is to obey him––to do what he wants us to do.

One of the ways that we can show God that we love him is by coming to Sunday school and church to learn about him––and to worship him.

One of the ways that we can show God that we love him is by praying––by keeping in touch with him every day.

One of the ways that we can show God that we love him is by being good boys and girls.
